OnLatte is Heading to the Inauguration

We are hired for a private party on the Parade Route

It’s official!  OnLatte has won a contract to provide our beverage service for a private party on Jan. 20th, 2009.  It turns out the organizers were impressed with our Obama image, and have requested us to do inauguration themed designs for the party goers.  According to our contacts at the event we are at a prime location overlooking the parade route on Pennsylvania Ave in between the Capitol Building and the Whitehouse.  This is a big achievement for OnLatte, and we very excited to be part of such a monumental event.  We will update the site with photos and video, so make sure to bookmark us and check back soon.

Going Social

Boston Globe Article

Brilliant story in the Money & Careers section

Sorry for the hasty post, but I am about to board a plane and wanted to post a link to an article written by Scott Kirsner in this Sunday’s Boston Globe. The article is so well written that I really do not need to say more. Enjoy!

The Field Pub - Dec. 29th 2008

OnLatte hosts a Meetup in Central Square Cambridge

After talking with many of you about potential applications and settings for the Latte Art Printer it dawned on us that in this day and age we have access to an incredible to tool that will allow us to create an environment for people to gather, socialize and engage with this new medium that we are creating.  that tool is Meetup.com.  Meetup is an amazing site that makes it very easy to create a topic, and find a venue for, well, meeting up.  Thus, OnLatte is going to host a series of events at pubs and coffee shops to push the vision of beverage art and promotion into reality.  Our first meetup is an at a bar called The Field in Central Sq Cambridge, MA, and for each half hour until 10pm we will feature a new image for printing and disussion.  Below is a link to the details of the event, and please sign up so that we can create art in a way that never has been done before.

Demo Session at Future Forward

OnLatte speaks at executive retreat

On November 19th, OnLatte will give a Demo Session talk at the invite-only executive retreat for the Future Forward conference.

According to their website:
“Future Forward explores the ways that innovative technologies are developed, and then deployed effectively in the real world. Since 2001, we’ve brought together New England’s top CIOs, CTOs, entrepreneurs, and investors for unvarnished conversations about creating competitive advantage and achieving breakout success.”

Thanks to an invite from FF founder, and Boston Globe columnist Scott Kirsner, OnLatte will be speaking about how the company was founded and its plans for the future. Afterward, during the cocktail reception, we will set up the printer and print the conference sponsor’s logo on Guinnesses for the guests.

We are extremely honored to be invited to this event, and being able to receive feedback from New England’s top executives and VCs is an incredible opportunity for our company. Who knows, maybe we will run into an investor with extra cash burning a hole in his/her pocket.

OnLatte Teams Up with Millipore

Creating Buzz at the Millipore Booth

On Oct. 22nd at the Boston World Trade Center, OnLatte was hired to run a complimentary latte service featuring the Millipore logo for all conference attendees. The goal was to provide a unique marketing opportunity that would help draw traffic and to keep people engaged. By all accounts, the service was a success. Elaine Fitzpatrick, Millipore’s corporate events specialist, had this to say:

While people lined up waiting for their latte, it was a perfect opportunity for our booth staff  to engage them in conversation about Millipore.

According to our stats, the average person would hang around the booth for at least 1 minute to watch the printer in action; which gave the booth staff ample time to introduce themselves and chat with the attendees.

On several occasions we noted that people would walk by, do a double-take, and then turn around and stop in front of the exhibit to watch as the logo was printed on the latte.  One thing that we learned was the importance of having enough booth staff to mingle with the onlookers.

Are you looking to spice up your next event, and draw traffic that will stick?  Please feel free to inquire about our beverage service, and we will work with you to determine the best setup.

You did what with a Guinness?

OnLatte does the first image printing on a Guinness!

First Guinness Prints!

Many of you have seen bartenders draw a clover in the foam of a Guinness (boring), but we decided to take it a step further and print the first images on a Guinness with our Latte Art Printer.  In honor of the upcoming elections, my friend Jane and I decided to print the nearby images on a Guinness.  It was then I realized, that we were actually making history as well!

This also has spawned a new service that we are planning on rolling out for pubs who want to shake things up a little. Think about it. What better way is there to break the ice and muster up the courage to chat with the person you are eyeing at the end of the bar? “Excuse me ma’am, but I couldn’t help but notice that you have something printed on your beverage…”

Please feel free to send us any comments if there are images you would like to see.  Better yet, give us a call (+1 617-401-8707) or sign up on our website for your next party and we will guarantee that your guests will have something to talk about!

New Role for Josh

Growing OnLatte

I am very happy to announce that Lex and I have agreed upon a partnership in which I will take on a new role as Director of Products and Services at OnLatte. Up until now I was mostly helping out in my spare time for events like Siggraph, but now I will take a more focused and committed role to help grow this exciting company. My first goal is to establish our exhibit and event show beverage printing service, but one thing that is very dear to my heart is to create a vibrant community for everyone who has shown interest in our product to try out original designs and have an open forum to give feedback.  I will post more on specific projects as they come up, but please feel free to contact me at any time if you have something on your mind.  Until then it’s time for me to roll up my sleeves since there is a lot of work to get done.

Best,
Josh
